The wonderful of Lombok, Komodo and Flores

Nusa Tenggara or called as South-East island, Lesser SundaIsland is consist of Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba, Timor and Alor.These islands is a new paradise found in Indonesia. If you look for white sand beach, pink beach, three colors lake, underwater of spectacular diving, hidden traditional village, beautiful waterfall, mountain trekking, beautiful savannah, giant dragon of komodo, here is a new paradise in Indonesia.

Refers to a group of islands located in the east of Java Island, which is from Bali Island to East Timor Island. The archipelago of Nusa Tenggara or Sunda Kecil is including 3 provinces that were once referred to as Sunda Kecil, namely:Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara.

Sumbawa contains a large area of intact natural forest, while Komodo, Rincah and Padar are now protected as Komodo National Park.


Lombok belong to West Nusa Tenggara Provinces which has many tourism potential in the future to come. Lombok has many tourism spots like gili island, beautiful beach, adventure tour like trekking and mountain hiking, the world surfing spot, beautiful virgin beach such selongbelanak beach, pink beach and eco-tourism.
Natural scenery in Lombok even it is cliche but it is really beautiful, very unique characteristic of nusa southeast region. The most memorable when traveling to Lombok adalam natural scenery in the form of the beach. Lombok is very clever combining views of beaches, hills and Mount Rinjani and slightly visible Mount Agung from a distance. In addition to the mainland beach, there is also exotic scenery of the sea on the island of Gilis.

Senggigi Beach

One of the most famous beaches in Lombok is Senggigi Beach, located in Lombok Barat. This beach provides beautiful underwater scenery, perfect for bersnorkling because this beach arch has a wave that is not too big.

Kuta Beach and Tanjung Aan

Sightseeing is still rarely visited but will continue to grow in Lombok contained in the area of Central Lombok. Here there is a beautiful Kuta Beach Lombok presents a blend of colors between the blue sea water and green hills, one of the scenery is difficult to find in any hemisphere. Selong Belanak Beach

PantaiSelongBelanak is located about 49 Kilometers from Mataram City, or about 1.5 hours drive. By using private vehicles, you can take a route to the International Airport of Lombok. The beach is located in a village called SelongBelanak Village, West PrayaSubdistrict, Central Lombok Regency. SelongBelanak itself has a semi-circular beach tekture, with a very wide beach lips and in wedge by the hills on the north and also south.

White sandy beach lips with a width of about 10 meters and a length of about 1 kilo meters, the waves are quite calm and the sea is shallow so this beach is mostly used as a place to learn to surf from all ages ranging from small children to adults.

Gunung Rinjani

This mountain is a favorite mountain for climbers because of the beautiful natural scenery combined with the beauty of Lake SegaraAnak. DanauSegaraAnak is a lake with a depth of 160 – 230 meters, the water smells of sulfur with different temperatures from one place to another. The area of the lake is about 1100 hectares. In the middle of this lake appears a new volcanic volcano that is still active and growing.

Nine Gili Islands

There are at least 9 gili in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara which became a tourist destination. Gili-gili some of these are already known and some are still rarely heard. While on vacation to the island, you can choose which gili you will visit, all of which offer beautiful natural beauty and underwater treasures.
The most popular one is Gili Trawangan. The other gilis island are Gili Meno, Gili Air, Gili Nanggu, Gili Kedis, Gili.

Sade Village

This village is an indigenous tribe of Lombok people, its life is still very traditional with buildings made of wood, bamboo chambers on the walls and roofed straw palm.

Pink Beach

Pink Beach of Lombok Island is located in the village of Sekaroh, Jerowaru district, East Lombok district is an attractive tourist destination and worth to visit for its uniqueness. This beach is one of seven beaches in the world that has pink beach sand, and one of two beaches in Indonesia that has pink beach sand.

Tanjung Beloam Beach

Tanjung Beloam is hidden behind teak forest in Dusun Tangsi, Temeak Village, Jerowaru District, East Lombok Regency. Until now, the area has not been so popular that it may be a bit unfamiliar to the public visitor. This place still not too many visitors. Maybe because this place is not too famous in the community. But I recognize that this region is really fascinating,


Sumbawa is located in the middle of the Lesser Sunda Islands chain, with Lombok to the west, Flores to the east, and Sumba further to the southeast.

Lakey :

Lakey is one of the top surf spots in Sumbawa and all along the coastline here you will find a range of good surf breaks which are famous with expatriate surfers and those in the know.

Moyo Island :

The island is the home of the Moyo Island National Park which tells you everything you need to know about the famed natural beauty of the region. The coral reefs in particular are spectacular here so if you like diving you are in for a treat. Back on land, you can trek through the park and there is a good chance of seeing wild boars and lizards. Moyo Island is also famous for having over 20 different kinds of bats, so nature lovers should make sure to swing by here on a visit to Sumbawa.

Satonda Island

Satonda Island is part of Sumbawa and is best visited as part of a boat trip which lets you take in some of the best scenery in the area. The island has the claim to fame of having a large crater lake in the center which would have been a volcano and which has now filled with salt water. You can get a boat across to Satonda Island from neighboring Pancasila and there is one resort here if you want to stay overnight. Common pastimes at the island include snorkeling or simply enjoying the vistas over the lake.


Flores is a Spanish name for flowers. As a new tourism destination in Indonesia, Flores is now wellknown as the diving paradise in Labuan Bajo, Maumere and Alor. As well as the diving opportunities you can also spend time in national parks or marvel at multi-hued lakes of Kelimutu, and this is also the home of the fierce Komodo dragon in Komodo, Padar and Rinca island.

Komodo National Park

One of the places you must visit on Flores Island is the Komodo National Park. This is the only place where you can see the famous Komodo dragons – a flashback to the era of the dinosaurs. Komodo National Park declared as World Heritage Site and Man and Biosphere Reserve (World Biosphere Reserve) by UNESCO. Komodo National Park also has amazing underwater life. The divers states that Komodo island is one of the best dive sites in the world. With stunning views of sea bottom where there are 385 species of beautiful corals, mangroves and sea grass, as well as home to thousands fishes, 70 sponges species, 10 species of dolphins, 6 kinds of whales, green turtles, and various types of sharks and stingrays. The combination of a variety of vegetation in the park provide a good environment for different types of animals in this region.

Pink Beach of Komodo

Pink beach is located at the north east of Komodo entry point called Loh Liang, Pink Beach is one of a must-stop beach after trekking in Komodo Island. When you get really close to the beach, you realise that the sands are pink from all the coral which had washed up onto it. You can snorkel around, we saw a wide variety of fish and a rather interesting turtle. Coral reefs here are are so healthy and colorful which makes it always perfect for snorkeling. Whenever you want to hang out on the beach for sun bathing or playing with your tour mates, you are simply swim toward the beach. The sand is so perfect that makes you do not want to leave the beach. Some big liveaboard board often stop over for playing beach volley ball or fresbying.

Wae Rebo Village

Wae Rebo is a small village of Manggaraian people that preserve to live traditionally in a very remote, isolated area surrounded by hilly mountains in southern part of west Flores. The history of Wae Rebo dates back thousands of years to the time of Maro, the first ancestor from Minangkabau, West Sumatra. The spirit of Wae Rebo is reflected in the unique style of housing, which is central to the culture. A few years ago a group of architects from Jakarta took an interest in the design of the drum houses and together with some Government funding, and financial assistance from corporate sponsors (also from Jakarta), funds were raised to continue the building of five new drum houses. Thanks to the outside help the current guesthouse was completed in June 2011. This community-led rebuilding project led to the winning of the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation in 2012.

The three colors lake of Kelimutu

the three lakes are all different colours and the colour of the water changes during the years. To get to Kelimutu you need to either fly into Ende and then travel to Moni or go across the island if you have time. The journey from Ende to Moni is a wonderful journey.
